What’s Journeys By Jamm's story?

Journeys By Jamm was created by Jaminique Ellis (Jamm), a world traveler who’s visited 6 continents and 30+ countries. What started with a milestone birthday trip to Italy for her mom in 2018 quickly turned into a passion for curating unforgettable travel experiences. After organizing that first trip, Jamm was hooked—so much so that she turned it into a business. Now, Journeys By Jamm curates multiple getaways each year, designed for different budgets, experiences, and lifestyles. Our mission is to give you a seamless journey filled with fun, cultural immersion, bucket-list moments, and time to unwind. We can't wait for you to join us on the next adventure!

What is included in our packages?

Our journeys are perfect for those who are done planning and are looking for a seamless, enriching experience. Our typical traveler is in their 40s-60s+, often an empty nester, professional, or solo adventurer who enjoys luxury, cultural immersion, and meeting like-minded individuals. Whether you're seeking personal growth, relaxation, or adventure, our travelers are open-minded, ready to explore, and eager to connect.

Who is Zara?

Zara is our muse that we design our journeys for. She’s thriving in her career, and embodies Black Woman Magic in all that she does. Zara loves to explore the world and experience new cultures, but she’s done with the stress of planning. She’s someone who wants to travel in style, enjoy luxury, and leave each trip feeling transformed, all while connecting with other amazing people along the way.

Booking Your Trip

What Happens After Booking?

Once you’ve booked, get ready to celebrate! You’ll first receive your travel receipt, a welcome email, and your exclusive “Booked and Bragging” badge. A few days later, we’ll send you your client portal information, along with your invoice and payment plan. You’ll also need to sign our terms and conditions, submit your passport details, and receive an insurance quote (if requested). We’ll keep you fully prepped with several “Know Before You Go” calls, ensuring you're ready for every part of your journey. If you’ve booked the full package, your flight tickets will arrive 14-21 days before departure.

What is discussed during pre-departure calls?

During your pre-departure call, we’ll walk you through the itinerary, answer any last-minute questions, and go over logistics such as flight details, airport transfers, tour activities, and any special accommodations you may need. This is also the time to discuss any personal preferences or concerns you have so that we can make sure your trip is perfect for you.

How do we access our account?

There are two ways to access your account:

Via our website: Simply click on the "Log Into Your Account" option at the top of the page. Then, enter the email address and password assigned to you in your "Access Your Client Portal" email.
Through your "Access Your Client Portal" email: Open the email containing your login information, and you can access your account directly from there.

You can log in to view your booking, make payments, or update personal information. You'll also be able to track your journey details and communicate with us if you need anything before or during your trip.

Can I book a private trip?

Absolutely! If you’re looking for a more personalized experience, we can work with you to create a custom, private trip. Just reach out, and we’ll discuss your dream destination and tailor a journey that fits your unique needs.

What’s the difference between Land Only and Full Package?

The Land Only option includes everything on the ground (accommodations, tours, and activities), but you’ll be responsible for booking your own flights. The Full Package includes both your flight and all the on-the-ground experiences, so you can sit back, relax, and let us handle everything.

What happens if I need to cancel?

We understand that life happens! If you need to cancel, please review our cancellation policy for details on any fees or refunds.

What happens if I miss a payment?

If a payment is missed, we’ll notify you and work with you to get it back on track. Late fees may apply, so it’s important to stay current on your payment schedule. If a payment remains unpaid, it may result in cancellation of your trip.

Roommates

What is your roommate matching plan?

We offer a roommate matching service for solo travelers looking to share accommodations. You’ll fill out a brief profile, and we’ll match you with someone who shares similar interests and travel preferences once you have both paid 75% of your reservation costs. If we’re unable to find a match, we’ll reach out to you directly to discuss other options.

What happens if you can't find me a roommate?

If we’re unable to match you with a roommate, we’ll contact you to discuss alternatives, such as adjusting your room type or offering a private room option, based on availability.

What happens if my roommate doesn't pay or needs to cancel?

If your roommate cancels, please reach out to us to request a roommate match. If we have a traveler still in need of a roommate, we’ll do our best to accommodate you. If no match is available, you’ll need to either find your own replacement roommate or switch to the single occupancy rate for the trip.

Payments and Security

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, JCB, China UnionPay), as well as Apple Pay, Google Pay, Link, and ACH (eCheck) payments. Payment plans are available for all of our trips.

Are my payments secure?

Yes, your payments are fully secure. We use trusted and encrypted payment processors to ensure your information is protected.

Are monthly payments required?

Yes, monthly payments are required. This is because Journeys By Jamm has contractual agreements with hotels, airlines, and other vendors that allow us to lock in our low package prices and offer you the flexibility to make payments in installments for your journey.

What happens if I miss a payment?

If a payment is missed, we’ll notify you via email and assist you in getting back on track when needed. Late fees may apply, so it's important to make sure your payments are on time. If payments remain overdue, it may affect your booking and could result in cancellation of your trip.

Travel Details

How far in advance do I get my flight confirmation?

You’ll receive your flight confirmation within 14-21 prior to your departure date. We’ll also send you any necessary details about your flight and trip itinerary well in advance.

Can I upgrade my room and/or flight?

Yes! You can upgrade both your room and flight based on availability. Our team will assist you with upgrading options to ensure your trip is as luxurious as you desire.

How do I know how physically demanding a tour will be?

Each tour has a detailed description of its activity level. We offer a range of tours from relaxed and easy-paced to more adventurous and physically demanding. We’re happy to discuss any concerns or recommend a tour that suits your physical comfort level.

How long should my passport be valid for?

Your passport should be valid for at least 6 months beyond your planned return date. Some countries may have additional entry requirements, so it's important to check the specific regulations for your destination before traveling.

Are visas included in our packages?

Visas are generally not included in our packages. We’ll provide guidance on whether you need one for your trip and give you the necessary information to apply. It’s important to ensure your visa is arranged in advance if required.

Solo Travel and Group Experience

Do I have to be part of a group, or can I travel solo?

With Journeys By Jamm, you get the best of both worlds! You can come as a solo traveler, embracing personal growth through travel, while still being part of a curated group experience. Our itineraries are designed to bring like-minded individuals together, so you can explore and connect with others while having your own space for personal reflection. By the end of the journey, you’ll leave not only having fulfilled your own dreams but also with new friends and family you’ve made along the way. It’s the perfect mix of solo empowerment and group connection.

What is group togetherness?

Group togetherness is the spirit of connection and shared experiences that defines our journeys. While there’s plenty of personal time for solo exploration, the activities and itinerary are designed for the group to enjoy together. This means you’ll have a chance to bond with other travelers while experiencing the best of each destination. We also want to maintain a positive, respectful environment for everyone. Should a traveler violate the integrity of group togetherness—such as through excessive drunkenness, excessive tardiness, physical altercations, sexual harassment, or other disruptive behavior—we reserve the right to remove them from the group at their own expense.

Travel Insurance

What is Travel Insurance?

Travel insurance protects your investment in case something unexpected happens before or during your trip. It can cover things like trip cancellations, medical emergencies, lost baggage, or unexpected travel delays. We highly recommend it for peace of mind and can provide recommendations for reputable providers.
